Instructions for Publishing Posts

These instructions are for people with author level access or higher (administrator or editor). Anyone should be able to comment on posts.
Note: if you don’t have a log in, email Patricia Hswe (phswe@illinois.edu) or Rob Olendorf (olendorf@illinois.edu) and we’ll get you one.
1) Click on Log in at the lower right sidebar just under Admin. You should be directed to your Dashboard. There is a big button Write a New Post in the orange bar. Click that.
2) You will be directed to a form. Its fairly straight forward. There are both Visual and HTML style editors. You can also add media files using the Add media button at the top of the editor.
You are encouraged to use previously used categories to help others find your post easier. If the proper one doesn’t exist you are able to make a new one. We may “tidy up” things though if the categories get out of hand.
3) Once you are done writing your post click save and publish. Make sure and hit publish! Otherwise your post won’t get posted.
4) You can manage your previous posts by clicking on the Manage tab near the top. You will get a list of all posts, but you should only be able to edit your own.
I think that’s it. As you can see it is pretty straight forward. If you have any problems PLEASE let us know and we’ll get them addressed.
